Information Technologies 2020 is a joint co-located event that brings together three conferences and is aimed at Master and PhD students as well as at young scientists at the beginning of their career to share ideas, present research results and provide new scientific opportunities. The participation of researchers and practitioners of the field is also encouraged. In 2020 three conferences are brought under this event: IVUS, ICYRIME and SYSTEM.

About the Conference

25th International Conference 

INFORMATION SOCIETY AND UNIVERSITY STUDIES (IVUS 2020)

The conference is the continuation of the annual conference series organized in succession by three universities: Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas University of Technology and Vilnius University Kaunas Faculty of Humanities. The event was started in 1995.

The International Conference for Young Researchers in Informatics, Mathematics, and Engineering (ICYRIME2020) is an international conference reserved to young scientists moving their first steps as autonomous authors and contributors in the field of Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics, Electronics, Math and Applied Sciences. It is organized by University of Catania (Italy) since 2016.

The Symposium for Young Scientists in Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (SYSTEM2020) is an international symposium for young scientists organized by Silesian University of Technology (Poland) since 2016.

Conference will be held at Kaunas University of Technology, Studentu 48A, room 337, Kaunas, Lithuania.

Authors are invited to submit full papers describing original research work in the Information and Software Technologies field. Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Artificial Intelligence and Knowledge Engineering;
  • Information Systems and Databases;
  • Business Process Modeling, Analysis and Design;
  • Formal Analysis and Design Methods;
  • Smart Systems and Environments;
  • Human-Computer Interface;
  • eLearning Technologies and Advances;
  • Computer Networks;
  • Computer Graphics;
  • Bioinformatics;
  • Robotics;
  • Mathematical Modelling;
  • Signal and Image Processing;
  • Security.

The attendance of conference is free. Local authors will deliver presentations in a traditional form. The remote presenters can present an e-poster and join the conference chat room for discussions, or present their papers using the teleconferencing system (webinar). The official language of the joint conference is English.

Authors are invited to submit their papers in English through the conference submission system. Conference pre-proceedings will be published in a printed conference proceedings book with ISSN 2029-249X. After the conference the authors will have the opportunity to revise and extend their papers. Conference post-proceedings (selected papers) will be published online in CEUR WS. Papers will be published only of authors who take part in the conference. For further details, please consult the conference web page.

Submitted papers must:

  • be in English;
  • have 4-6 pages;
  • use IEEE proceedings style and A4 format;
  • present original research which is unpublished;
  • be submitted electronically in PDF form.

Submission Preparation Checklist

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another conference for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Director).
  2. The submission file is in PDF document file format.
  3. All URL addresses in the text (e.g., http://if.vdu.lt) are activated and ready to click.
  4. The text uses a 10-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines above.
  6. As the author of the submitted work, it is your responsibility to ensure that the manuscript presents a stylistically as well as grammatically correct copy. As a result, on making a submission to the conference, author(s) accepts all responsibility for stylistic and grammar errors found in the paper.

On making submission of this unpublished work, authors allows conference organizers and others to freely access, use, and share the work if:

a) that complies with the terms and rules indicated in the Republic of Lithuania Law;

Getting to the venue by plane

Kaunas airport

Kaunas airport is situated 10 kilometres off the city. At Kaunas airport regular flights are operated (by Ryanair and AirBaltic) to London, Bristol, Birmingham, Edinburgh (United Kingdom), Dublin, Knock (Ireland), Frankfurt (Germany), Oslo (Norway), etc. More information can be found on the airport website.
There is a very convenient way to reach Kaunas central bus station by bus No. 29 (Kaunas Routes and Timetables), also special buses to capital Vilnius are arranged to suite the flight timetable (more information on the airport website).

Vilnius airport

One can also come via Vilnius Airport. The airport is located on a plateau in the south of Vilnius. It is only 7 km, or 15 minutes drive by car from the centre of the capital. The regular flights are operated to Brussel (Belgium), Stockholm (Sweden), Copenhagen (Denmark), Helsinki (Finland), Tallinn (Estonia), Moscow (Russia), Kiev (Ukraine), Warsaw (Poland), Frankfurt (Germany), Riga (Latvia), etc. More information can be found on Vilnius airport website.
The city centre can be easily reached using city train or bus. There is a special train between the Railway Station and the Airport. Located close to the passenger terminal, a train stop has staircase and elevator for passengers, lighting as well as a video supervision system for security of passengers. The needs of disabled passengers and passengers with reduced mobility have also been considered. Pedestrian path leading to the Airport is Sheltered and lightened during dark period of a day. Bus stop is situated just outside the airport. Bus No. 1 goes to the train/bus station and the buses No. 2 goes to the city centre. The timetable can be found at Vilnius Routes and Timetables.

By bus from Vilnius

There are frequent bus connections between most parts of Lithuania. The bus schedule from Kaunas and Vilnius to Palanga can be found on the website: Autobusu bilietai.
